1Password for Agents
1Password for Agents review: let AI agents log in for you without seeing your passwords. Which agents work today, what it costs, and the catches.
Overview
1Password for Agents lets an AI agent use your saved logins without handing it the password. When the agent hits a sign-in page, it asks for a login, you review and approve it in 1Password, and 1Password fills it in on the site.
The agent never sees the password or the one-time code, and it can only use the logins you approve, though once signed in it can act inside that account. You can disconnect it any time. It's live in Muse and Grok Bot now, with Claude Duet, ChatGPT Work and others coming soon.
Best for
People who already use 1Password and want an agent to book, order or file things in their accounts without pasting passwords into a chat.
Skip it if
Skip it if your agent isn't on the supported list yet, or your 1Password account is on 1Password.eu or 1Password.ca.

Pros
- Password stays hidden. 1Password fills the login on the site, so the agent never sees it.
- You approve logins. The agent asks, and you choose which login it can use; how often you're asked varies by agent.
- One vault for every agent. Change a password once and connected agents keep working.
- No extra charge. It's included with Individual and Families plans.
Cons
- Short list today. Only Muse and Grok Bot are live; most big agents are still marked coming soon.
- Not for EU or Canada accounts. Accounts on 1Password.eu or 1Password.ca aren't supported yet.
- Safeguards vary. 1Password says the controls differ from one agent integration to the next.
- Agent still acts in the account. It never sees the password, but once signed in it can see and do what that account allows.
How it compares
Without it, you either take over the agent's session and type the password yourself, or paste it into the chat, which gives the agent the password itself. 1Password for Agents fills the login for the agent instead.
Pick it if you already pay for 1Password and use a supported agent. Skip it for now if your agent isn't on the list.
Disclosure: WhichBot runs on Grok Bot, one of the two live integrations. We have no paid or affiliate tie to 1Password, and it doesn't affect this review.
Quick start
- Make sure your 1Password account is on 1Password.com.
- Connect 1Password in a supported agent such as Muse or Grok Bot.
- Give the agent a task that needs one login, like checking an order.
- Approve the login request in 1Password when it appears.
- Disconnect the integration if you stop using that agent.
Verdict
Pick 1Password for Agents if you already pay for 1Password and use Muse or Grok Bot: your agent can sign in without seeing your passwords, at no extra cost. Skip it for now if your agent isn't supported yet or your account is on 1Password.eu or 1Password.ca.
