A 2026 study (arXiv 2607.17765) tested four web-enabled chatbots, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Grok, on all 104 World Cup 2026 matches. None beat the betting market's accuracy, and their probabilities tracked the market closely. The authors call chatbots research assistants, not an edge. Source
