Kalshi is the CFTC-designated exchange with the widest range of event categories: economics, politics, sports, culture and weather. Its taker fee is a published formula that peaks at 1.75¢ per contract at a 50¢ price. Polymarket US is the runner-up. It's also CFTC-designated, its fees are almost identical, and makers earn a rebate, but it isn't offered in Nevada. Manifold is the free pick: play money you can't cash out, good for learning how markets work.

Skip Kalshi if you live in Washington, or want sports in Nevada or Michigan. Court orders block Kalshi markets there. Laws change, check your state.
